Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges of the modern era. This phenomenon is characterized by drastic changes in earth temperature, extreme weather phenomena, and rising sea levels. Various factors, including human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, contribute to increasing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere. One of the most obvious impacts of climate change is the melting of ice in the Arctic and Antarctic. This process contributes to rising sea levels which can threaten small islands and coastal areas. According to scientific research, if the earth’s average temperature increases by more than 2 degrees Celsius, many habitats will be lost, threatening aquatic and terrestrial life. In agriculture, climate change is causing uncertainty in rainfall patterns, which has a direct impact on global food security. Farmers increasingly face the challenge of adapting their farming practices to unpredictable weather conditions. Therefore, sustainable agricultural technology is a priority to increase crop yields and reduce negative impacts on the environment. From a health aspect, climate change can worsen the spread of infectious diseases. As temperatures rise, some disease vectors, such as mosquitoes, can reproduce more quickly, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks such as dengue fever and malaria. Research shows a correlation between climate change and increased death rates and heat-related illnesses. In the energy sector, the shift towards renewable energy sources is increasingly urgent. Solar, wind and biomass energy offer cleaner alternatives for reducing carbon emissions. Many countries have begun investing in infrastructure that supports this transition, although technical and funding challenges remain. Implementing policies that support the use of renewable energy is an important step towards reducing the global carbon footprint. Public awareness of the impacts of climate change is also increasing. Global movements like Fridays for Future have inspired millions of people to take action, demanding concrete action from governments and corporations. Education and advocacy play an important role in creating awareness of this issue and encouraging behavioral change at the individual and community level. At the international level, agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement demonstrate global efforts to address climate change. However, the implementation of these agreements still faces many challenges, including often opposing economic and political interests. Climate change is not only an environmental problem, but also a social and economic issue that affects all levels of society. Holistic climate change policies, involving all stakeholders, are essential to create sustainable and equitable solutions. In this context, the role of youth and technological innovation is vital in shaping a better future for the planet.
